3D art
Recently, I have started to make more art with my hands, and the more that I do it, the more I enjoy the tactile process of experimenting with various physical mediums.

HOW YOU SEAM
I created this as a way of exploring the grief I have experienced after losing my mom when I was very young and now struggling to understand and conceptualize who she was.
This piece speaks to the constant work of stitching together the pieces I have of my mom - memories of her, stories people have told me, and videos and pictures I have seen - in an attempt to create her into a full person in my mind.

I intentionally chose a muted color pallet and a visibly chaotic energy to emphasize how blurry these pieces become and how that leads to an unclear conception of who my mom was.

The blank areas allude to how this work will never be completed as I will forever be missing pieces of who she was because she is not here to fill them in.
AN ODE TO
IRIS APFEL
Iris Apfel first became a part of my life when my mom and grandmother took me to an exhibit of hers when I was six years old. To this day, I can still see the igloo that was on display with the collection.
And since then, she has been my go-to for inspiration for all things maximalist and colorful and bold.

A few months before her passing, I created this wire portrait of her in order to hone my wire skills and have yet another excuse to talk about this fabulous woman.
